View Full Version : Stiching Recordings

Done a dozen searches on here to find the answer but came up with nothing.

I want to combine several recordings together into one entry in the Now Playing list.

I have 12 episodes of something I want to put on tape and I don't want to have to do each one manually.

I know, I know, direct extraction to dvd is better quality but my mom doesn't care. ;)

Trivial. Write a tcl script that reads the part FSIDs from each showing, then combines all of them into one target showing by adding those entries into its parts attribute, and viola, you get exactly what you want.

Trivial to some, I suppose.

Has anyone written a script to do something like this already?

Trivial to some indeed. :)

I am not familiar with tcl, but perhaps if you could post something generic (if it isn't too time consuming) I could expand on it for my own needs. I too would be happy to get something like this for my tivo.

P.S. (I would look up tcl and learn it now, but I just got my dvd burner going...and that has been all consuming for the past 3 days. :) )

i think mbm has a merge.tcl script to do this. (or maybe it was someone else....)

I'll look around, and see if I can find it.

Looks like there's a bug related to 2.5.x that won't let it work unless I patch tivoapp.

Will attempt tonight.
