what is happening? My two dsr6000s have both started receiving sdd's about every two or three days. I am running your nosdd with cron. Any ideas? Do you believe the upgrades are coming over the phone only?

I don't even run nosdd, but from what I have read there is no service data download that is full proof. The best you can do is block some of them and hope that those that do get through don't update your tivo.
I myself, as I said, don't run the nosdd and have never taken an update. Still at 2.5.1.

Service Data Downloads come down via satellite, usually between 2am and 4am, but theoretically could occur at any time of day.

I am connected neither by phone nor network. My Direct Tivos "stand alone" so to speak. :)

The only way I would take an update is if it came down over the stream.

The adjustment settings vary. I don't know why, but one of my tivos needs to have different timing in order to work at all.
