Ok i do not have my Tivo yet but i have a Sony-T60 on the way, i am reading about getting the lifetime subscription but i came through reading about TUrbonet but what exactly is Turbonet? Can i actually connect my Tivo to the internet?
Turbonet is an ethernet card for the Tivo.
It can be used to connect the tivo to the net to get its daily download (stand alones mostly) and / or it can be used to extract shows off of the tivo.

Do a quick search for TurboNet on this forum and you will find everything you need to install this NIC. You may want to search for Xtreme, kraven's upgrade and noscrammble if you want do extraction.
