I'm really not electronically inclined enough to be able to hack my tivo. Would anyone be willing to hack my tivo for a price? What I need done is adding boot299.btl so I can use an HU Card in my Sony SAT-60 Directv with Tivo. See the thread "H & HU card works with 3.1-Just Restore old file" Please contact me at tbg1@hotmail.com if you could do that.
Thanks

Sounds like you are after free tv. But how is it free if you are willing to pay for it?
I do love the money, but you should really read and learn to do this stuff yourself. None of us started off with much more than curiosity at one point in time.....
The expirience is much more rewarding if you do it yourself.
There are some great guides out there that can tell you how to do just about anything, if you are willing to spend the time.

hacking a unit to expand the drive or enable bash is one thing, and considered relatively safe. adding the video extraction stuff or some of the other related programs could probably be ok too.
hacking a unit with the express purpose of bypassing security checks for the dtv service, especially for money, is highly illegal in the US and now canada.

Step 1: Get a 40+ Gig HD
Step 2: Download Sat- T60 2.5 image from internet
Step 3: Download Mfstools 2.0 bootable from internet
Step 4: mfstools resore -i
Step 5: Instal the HD on your Dtivo
At this point you should have a working image of 2.5 on your T60
Step 6: Disconect from T60 and conect to your computer the original 3.1 as master, the other HD 2.5 as slave on secondary.
Step 7: cp file from hdc to hdd, make sure you back up your original file, and just in case chattr + i
Step 8: restart your tivo with original drive and voila.......
Step 9: You wont get to step 9 because this post will be deleated, iam betting my 2 cent.

Why will it be deleted? It contains no useful information, some potentially wrong information, and doesn't address what he really wants someone to do.

Box that TIVO up & send it to me. I won't hack it for you, but I could use it myself...sounds like you aren't getting any use out of it.

I tell you what, send it to me and I will take care of it for you.
I will need $2000, that is far less than one million. I don't give guarantees that I will actually do quality work, or even do the work by the way. You have to take a chance.
I could work for Dave though and then I would know who you are and thus keep the box instead of sending you a letter.
YOU better cut your losses before they start and try things on your own first.
Then, read again.....
