Sony Dtivo, 2.5xtremed, touched, Kraven and then xPlusz 2.18 installed a while back.

Was working fine but tonight I tried to use the xPlusz commands and they consistently failed. I tried to force a call and that failed too, so not sure what is going on.

I can enable backdoors by the title search method so I can access the logs and I do see some file not found errors. I wonder if /var/hack is gone for whatever reason and that is causing the errors, but can not connect the cable just this moment to see if the dir still exists.

I know that the new 2.5.2 / 3.1 version is out but will like to stay as is if possible for the time being, although I am following the 2.5.2 / 3.1 thread with interest.

Any ideas besides checking the /var/hack dir although not sure why it would have magically disappeared?

Finally the kids went to bed and was able to connect the serial cable without them running all over it.

/var was there but the /hack inside it was missing. I decided to reinstall Xpls 2.18 and all seems well.

Why would /hack be removed? Is that the Dtivo clearing up dirs it thinks it doesnt need? Any way to stop it from doing this?

Thanks.

You are not dealing with your log file problem. The tivo killed all of /var (including /var/hack) and then recreated /var.

You need to do something about your logs filling up. I know that version 3.10 of xPlusz deals with logs. Not sure about 2.18

Install xPlusz v3.10. It will automatically rebuild /var/hack/xPlusz if it finds it missing. All versions of xPlusz handle the logs if NOPHONE option in set on.

Thanks.

Yes, that is the odd thing. As far as I know NOPHONE was set to on.

Are there any pending matters on Xpz3.10 to consider before maing the jump? ie. any unresolved issues?
