Is there a program that read how big your hd is and how much space your saved recing are takeing up and tell you how much room you have left in Hours of shows that can be rec.
iam sorry if you don't now what iam asking i suck at typeing.
i have a 80gb hd and have a few show rec and i want to now when will the hd be full. so i can pick what shows i want del so the tivo doesn't del the ones i realy want to keep
Unfortunately there is no program to tell how much free space is left on the MFS partition (that I know of.) Even if there was you would only be able to estimate how much time you would have left because DirecTivo's store a variable bit rate stream. Meaning, fast motion scenes, or shows full of action will need more space than a show with little action.
The best thing you can do turn on Tivo Suggestions and let Tivo fill the drive. You can then monitor Tivo's Suggestions as they get deleted first, before anything else, when space is needed. You could look at how many hours of tivo suggestions you have and estimate how much time you have left.

Lies....ALL LIES!!! :D
Tivoweb 1.9.4 info module, shows you how much space you have used and how much is available:
Space Used - 65091 MB
Expired Invisible 1 21 MB 0.0% 0:29:55
Expired Season Pass 18 11206 MB 17.2% 11:53:00
Expired Single 3 9424 MB 14.5% 7:21:09
Single 20 31025 MB 47.7% 29:12:45
Season Pass 13 9471 MB 14.6% 9:32:31
Wishlist 2 1157 MB 1.8% 1:00:04
Live Cache 2 1792 MB 2.8% 0:42:02
Total 59 64096 MB 98.5% 60:11:26
Free Space - 995 MB 1.5% 0:57:00
Of course the times are estimations, but they are *fairly* accurate.
Captain - I think that is for Stand Alones, if I remember correctly. I downloaded it once upon a time and it had Quality settings for recorded shows.
Alpha - Good to know this. Is there a stand alone program? something that does not require tivo web? I could also look at how much space is consumed by my recordings in TyTools, but it would be nice to run something like "du" on the mfs partition. Maybe I will have to look into tivo web after all.....

The first text you see on each line describes what that particular space is being used for. The second number is the quantity of it (e.g. how many Wishlists present is two). The third number is how much space in megabytes it is using up. The fourth number is the percentage of your total hard disk space that its using. The fifth entry is the estimated "viewing time" that the subject uses.
