SVR2000 Dead?

I just purchased two svr2000's and here is what they are doing(or rather not doing) & what I've done.... looking for suggestions:


1.) No power light, no fan
so I replaced the power supply
did not fix.

2.) Pulled and reset every cable in the box....
did not fix.

3.) Pulled the power cable and removed the battery.
did not fix.

4.) They didn't come with remotes, so I purchased remotes and they are still non-responsive bricks.

- I am not getting any welcome screens
- the fan does not come on
- power light does not come on
- the display is a black screen with a scrolling white line.

Should I try to reapply a 1.3 Image to the disk, or does the lack of a welcome screen mean that the motherboard is toast or the prom is fried?

I have a turbonet coming, with the thought of adding a jtag to play around with it, but I am not sure if there is any shareware that flashes Tivo proms or does diagnostics.

Am I hosed? Any help is appreciated.

if you think the unit is completely dead, sell it to me. i would like to take the chance to repair it. let me know if u are willing to part with it.
