I just purchased a sony svr-2000 from tweeter, it was a floor model never used. still has the stores demo on it.
anyway, I'm just interested in using the tivo as a digital vcr only, I dont care about using the guide or tv listings. I would like to use the live record and set time and channel record only.
I was going throught the setup on the tivo to set up for sale to a customer on the store's demo I purchased and was wondering if I can bypass the tivo trying to dial out to update it's software?
From what I read on the forum's that the newer software will not allow you to use the tivo as a standalone digital vcr.
Any suggestions aor info about what I should do would be greatly appreciated as again this is my first tivo.
Thank you
