View Full Version : Forgive the question

I am looking for a program to demux a directv file without the assistance of a tivo. After the file is exported it is possible to demux it right?

I skimed the faq and found nothing useful.

I am playing with a UTV...

A UTV file and a DTivo file are not the same thing. The video is stored using different operting systems and filesystems. The UTV uses Windows CE whereas Tivo uses Linux. There are utilities to split DTV datastream recordings or tyfiles as they are known in these parts but I have yet to see anything that will allow extraction or splitting of a UTV recorded stream.

Bluecop created a tool to extract for the UTV hard drive. The extracted file is a dtv stream.

What I have seen discussed in this forum are programs implemented on the tivo, as opposed to on a windows/*nix machine...

Thanks for the help.

I hope for more.
