touch/etc/SubTest

I keep getting "no such file or directory" and/or missing argurments when trying to touch at the bash prompt. I have 25xtreme, hughes gxe, 100gig, and serial cable. Please help I have read read and read, but nothing.

syntax should be "touch /etc/SubTest"
case sensitive ! if it still errors cd /etc
and check for SubTest via ls
