dtivo series 2 and series 1 run same system software?

Just order my series 2.. Time to start learning a bit more..

On ebay there is a guy advertising upgrade drives that are supposed to work on a series 1 or series 2 dtivo. Is the version 3 software the same for both units? Are drive images compatible?

No way, no how.

the drives can be used in either as a B drive. thats what he means. the system software is functionally the same, but you cant use the s1 software on the s2 since they have different processors among other things
