DSR6000 with 3.1.0 Dual tuner problem

im starting from scrach on a refubished drs6000. Everything works great untill i put boot299.btl and 3.1.0 on it and try to acctivate the dual tuners. After that everything goes wrong. It checks the signal strength and then goes to a please wait. I gave up on it after 2 hours. I installed everything again and still got the same problem. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to get both tuners working with boot299.btl and 3.1.0. Thanks

From the way it sounds everything worked until you went to 3.1, I guess that would enclude both tuners.
I don't understand what the big thing is about going to 3.1, I'm running 2.52 with Xplusz and I don't have any problems. If you want to us a HU card that stick with 2.52. Install 2.5 and check and see if both tuners are working, if not then maybe you have a bad tuner. If you can't fix that yourself then from what I've read the cost to repair this kind problem you would be better off buying another unit and keep this one for parts.

Both tuners work great in 2.5, And i dont have a problem making the hu card work with 3.1. I just cant make both tunners work in 3.1. I know it can be done from other post here on this forum they just didnt go into how they did it.

If it works don't fix it, is what I say!!
If you can get 2.5 or 2.52 to work then why is 3.1 so important? I'm guessing that if it's newer then it's better? I've been running 2.5 and 2.52 on my machines and I don't have any problems so there is no reason to upgrade to 3.1 unless I want to use a P4. Are you wanting to use a P4 or is P3 what you have. P3 will work with 2.5 and 2.52, I'm unsure if a P4 will work with 2.5 or 2.52, but I know that a P3 will not work with 3.1
Sure you should be able to get 3.1 to work with both tuners but if 2.5 works go with it.
Again I'm no expert but make it ez on yourself stay with 2.52 and be happy.

I really just went to 3.1 for the fun of it. I enjoy messing with my tivo. But the menu speed is kick ass in 3.1 not nearly as slow as 2.5. The wife has even requested that I put it back on. And she usaly askes me not to mess with it. That may not be enolf of a reason for some but im doing it just becuse i can. What better reason. A p3 will work with 3.1 with just a bit of modification.

try enabling duak tuers before you use the boot299 file.after then use boot299,after you send the file chmod +x the file.that worked for me.try it and let me know how you made out.

Some of us know how to fix things that already work better than others. As a result, our tivos tend to piss us off less with how damn slow they are. 3.1 works great for me, way better than 2.5.2 was.

All I can say is more power to you, Undoubtedly you guy's are the pioneers and some day the rest of us 2.5'ers will raise ourselfs up to your level. Keep up the good work, Thanks.

I got it working great guys. Thanks for all the help. I just enabled both tuners before i tried anything with the boot file. I also used the command this time instead of replacing the file.
