I have been searching on this site and I am going nutz. I have a T60 with 2.5.2. I have the selectlocals.tcl version 2.52 (open it up with joe and said 2.5.2 at the top). When I add locals I never get the guide info ( I have waited paitently for a week after each channels have been added). I live in Baltimore, I get some of the LA with guide but others come in with TBA guide. I have added PA,MI, DN and all of them are TBA on the guide. I have read the type of dish may have something to do with it, I do have the round dish setup. But I do not live that far from PA, I thought I would at least get their guide info instead of the couple I got from LA. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. there are some channels that have no picture(blackouts). And I understand that I have to be in the spot beam, but how do I remove those certain channles. I read that running ./selectlocals.tcl with no parameters will clear them all, but that did not work. I even tried ./mvchannels.tcl dumpall and no go. Thanks for reading.

To remove all the channels and get back to square one:

./mvchannels.tcl reset

then reboot.

There are tons of other threads on getting and keeping locals. Here is the main one on how to get multiple locals:

It sounds like you do not really know what locals you can get. You need to figure that out first.

The reason you got guide data for the couple from LA (5 and 9) is that those are not in a spotbeam.

Simply adding locals to the guide using selectlocals or any other script does not allow you access to them. You need to have a legit sub to get them. Here's a link to a similar thread that should clear up some of your questions:

pghattas is right. if you have a legit sub, it'll come in in just a few hours. On the other hand (there's only 2 side to this :-).. you can set locals by $ limit, but you will have to find out what $ to set it for your local. i guess now you can stop waiting and hoping and start researching more about the other hand.

As I recall, setting the spending limit for locals only applied to the now defunct SLE emulator. I don't think it's applicable any longer.

I do have a legit sub, but my legit sub but that sub does not subscribe to any locals but I got my locals and guide fine. I get other locals when I add them with no problem either, but I just dont get the guide for some of em.

P-52 and some other writers still use the spending limits as a locals selector.
