Are they in the TVBIN dir?

Hod you you remove the *philips* background from the system.
I loaded philips image on a HUGHES, and want to get rid of the PHILIPS that zooms in and out, when you are in the menus.

Did a search but did not find a specific pinpoint as to which file is which image.

The background menus are just small (8 meg or so) tystreams that are indexed from /Resource/VideoClip. You can easily remove them, but changing them cannot be done unless we have a way of generating tystreams.

Don't you hate that?

What you can do (but that overwrite everything) is install your Hughes backup and then upgrade to 2.5.2 or 3.1 with TiVoLater 3.1 or xtreme upgrade 2.52/3.1

If you don't have a backup you can download one from sites listed in the sticky.

Has anyone noticed any significant menu change speed gain by deleted them?
And is it as simple as just deleting the files?

Thanks alpha,
Ill just delete it and be done with it. May even speed things up.

Bato: If I restore a ver 2.0 image, when it calls in it will go to 3.1 :(
+ This unit has a dead modem I dont feel like fixing.( or care to )

Which directory?

And when you use the term indexed, you are meaning as in called/ subroutine , correct?

Probably a noob question, but doesn't recording something create a tystream? Can't we just record svideo in from my nifty computer generated background and point the mfs references to that? Or can I just point to a 20 second 598 recording ;)

Any advice? I've had my HDVR2 working for 2 days now and already hate the DTV backgrounds.

if only one could create a 5 second BLACK background...

At least DTV did not have a DTV LOGO as the Background...
