Winked Tivo?

Hey! Been a while since I've actually needed to POST here, but I can't find this after a number of searches.

I have a phillips combo unit that appears to be "winked" , since it will only work with p4 cards and not hu. Can someone confirm that this is possible? If so, is there a way to reverse the wink either thru re-imaging or thru flashing the eeprom or something?

While Im not a newbie...I am not an expert... But I believe what you are experiencing is the fact the TIVO version 3.1 only supports P4 cards. Go look at the system infomation if its 2.5XXXX then it will read HU and P4 if its 3.XXX then only P4.
