Recording Time

Does anyone know if you can tell how much space your recordings are taking up and how much room is free. I have a 120GB that shows variable up to 109 Hours, but am not getting that much before programs are removed because of space.:confused:

You are losing recordings quickly because you either have all the saved stuff set to save until I delete, and/or you have many wishlists. There is no accurate way to tell how much space is left because the recordings use variable bit rates, so one 1hr show won't necessarily take up the same space as another 1hr show. (Or even the same show recorded at a different time!)

You can increase your recording capacity if you set up your recording options to save fewer episodes and to save them for shorter periods before being deleted. The total capacity is calculated by taking into account everything you have set up in your To Do list, especially season passes. If you set up everything to saved until you delete them then every upcoming episode is deducted from the total capacity as well as every recording that currently exists on the Tivo.
