Xbox HDD access speeds

I am wondering if anybody knows much about the specifics of how often/fast the xbox needs to read/write to the HDD?

The reason I ask, is because I am about to take a 40 gig drive from a directivo and put it in my xbox. The thing I am concerned about here though, is that I don't know whether or not that specific hard drive is fast enough for the xbox. RC3105 told me that the seagates that the tivos include only have 384k of cache.

If i remember the model numbers correctly, the seagate drives the xbox uses has 256k but the western digital drives has 2mb. So it should be ok. You could double check with themodel # of the drive that's in thier i supose.
