Hello all, I have a recording of LOTR that is 6GB with DD 5.1 that I am trying to vsplit so that I can feed it into ifoedit then finally to DVD... but I can't seem to find anything that will work?! I keep getting errors no matter what I try to split it with :(

Any help would be appreciated...

I have attached the txt output from tytool6r3

Try using tydemux. You'll also have to split the file into two segments because LOTR will not fit on a single DVD. Try extracting it by FSID and select the first 8 FSIDs for the first extraction and the remaining FSIDs for the 2nd file. Author and burn each one separately to two discs.

ok... I was going to use dvd2one to get it to fit perfectly on a dvd..

Even though I think DVD2ONE is good I think IC7 would be best for LOTR, the end result is crisper than D2O - i tried both, imho.

i have to ask.. why not just spring for another 70 cents for a second dvd-r?

most people prefer single dvd-rs over flippers, especially if this is a business to you.

I paid for and own a copy of dvd2one so I think I will just be using it for now ;) How much is instant copy 7?

I haven't tried DVD2One yet but based on the size of the movie I think you'll probably be very disappointed with the results. The amount of compression is going to be massive to get the entire LOTR movie to fit on a single DVD, resulting in extreme loss of resolution. It sort of defeats the purpose of extracting from a DTivo in the first place.
