Sony SVR 2000 Problem

I have a Sony SVR 2000 SA that shows a black screen with big color blocks flashing on and off when its booted up. Is this a hard drive problem? Has anyone had this problem before?

Could be a number of things, including a power supply problem. I'm pretty sure that with most hard drive problems, you will at least get to a "Welcome Powering Up" Screen. Even if you pull the hard drive, you should get to that point. If you have a warranty, I would look into returning it. If you've all ready cracked the case, try removing any batteries, all power supply cables, etc., leave them unpluged for 5 minutes, then hook everything back up. Look for a blown fuse(if it has one). Don't know what else to suggest.

its working now i pressed down on the main board and the screen cleared up.
