I picked up 2 of these Tivo Units, 2nd series

can't seem to hack it using extreme 2.5

I messed up 2 dell computers while doing this... i'v ebeen told that i can't use an hu card in this unit, and that its not hackable?

Is this true? How can I hack it ? What do i need to do ?

ps....extreme is for series 1 units(dvr6000,t60, etc). series 2 have diff cpusand versions of Linux.....fyi

how are u screwing up computers using a boot cd?? that's odd?????:confused: :confused: :confused:

what do you mean "they just wont boot up"?

did you buy the units, pull them out of the box, then plug them in, only to find they wouldnt boot to the tivo menu

specifically, what do you see on your screen when you think it stops booting. if its nothing, check to make sure that you hooked everything up right

you could have a dead unit, but thats somewhat unlikely

I wrote Extreme25 to the disk, transferred it back to the Tivo, and the Powering Up message is stuck on the screen. Won't go past that.

You need to re-image the drives. EXTREME won't work..period.

go to ftp site and download a clean image. Plus, u can not do anything to a HDVR2 at this time without s/w ver U5.

I'm getting different info from differentpeople, are the receivers i have hackable? can i use hu cards with them ?

I'm in canada, so i cannot sub to Tivo.. will i still be able to hack this puppy and get free tv ?
