I have a dsr6000 at xtreme3.1 connected to a linksys router. Does anyone know how I can find to MAC address of the TIVO so I can block its access to the internet?

You don't need the MAC address to block access. Set up the IP address assigned to your DSR6000 in the Linksys filters to block it from connecting to the internet. This is where a static IP address comes in handy. I'm not sure you can block it if you have it set up as a DHCP client since the address can fluctuate. You can, however, set up a range of addresses to be blocked by the Linksys router.

i was having trouble setting it with a static IP. i just found the MAC address and set my router to block it. this should be enough even if i set it to use DHCP, right?
For future reference you can find your MAC address a couple of ways:
1) At a bash prompt type "ifconfig" the MAC address is after HWaddr looks like 00:0B:AD:28:04:1A
2) IN the web interface of your Linksys router goto the DHCP tab, select the button "DHCP Clients Table" Your Tivo will be listed, but there will not be a Client Host Name listed. It will be in the format 00-0B-AD-28-04-1A
