I seem to have lost my BASH ability, both through TURBONET and through serial.
This occurred immediatly after I uninstalled xPlusz. I want to reinstall it but when I try to do so thru a PC, I get an error when I run the script.
And, since I can't access the unit via BASH, I can't do an on drive install.
Any assistance?

Uninstalling xPlusz shouldn't affect serial bash. Bash via the turbonet needs telnet started, which normally is done by xPlusz. You'll need to put the drive in a pc to determine what's wrong.

Did that. Reinstalled Turbonet as well. Still get PING, but not bash. When I try to re-install xPlusx from the PC I get a "edit_bootparms" command not found error. Any way I can determine what the BASH problem is when having the Tivo drives on the PC??

You need a use a more current bootable CD containing edit_bootparms (like the v25xtreme one) to install xPlusz.
Edit /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit and look at the end to make sure the bash startup is there.

I tried to run the setup using a V25X CD. When I ran setup, it proceeded a little further, but then gave me an error about cannot change UID and GID to 503 and 113 or somthing like that.
But the really wierd thing is that, looking at the rc.sysinit, the commands for TELNET are in there.
