floundering here...w/ HD's being found
This is a long one...so here I go...please bear with me....
Have set up 2 different DSR 6k phillips so far, these work fine w/ lifetime sub and 2.5.2. For these two I installed two 120 gb drives on them.
Got another unit and here we go. Bios finds both drives, both are the Quantum ones that come with the units(40 GB). I set one up as master, and the other as slave on secondary port(HDC and HDD). Both are present. I then run 25xtreme. I pick HDC as the 'a' drive and it installs. I then run TivoMad and pick HDC as the 'a' drive and then HDD as the 'b' drive. I wait it out and then put in the TiVo unit. I check information and get amount of time as variable up to 25 hours. I then bash in and put lifetime sub on. I call out then check again and get same 25 hour time.
I then put upgrd252.sh on the drive while in the PC. I remove the drives in the bracket and plug them right into the PC and use the same cable to make sure cables are not switched. Bios still finds drives correctly(I can see the green light under the drives light up in order in the BIOS).
I then Reboot the TiVo and check the software, I get the 252 version and check recording time and still have the variable up to 25 hours. The drives are 40 gb so I would guess the time should be closer to 65 hours that should be there.
I have switched the drives and tried this again several times. The recordable time remains the same. I even tried a 20 gig as the hdd and get same result. The 20 gig also told me it couldnt be the 'a' drive since it wasnt big enough.
I have run fdisk to look at the drives after 25xtreme and 252upgrd.sh. I get nothing that shows up in fdisk, but the drives do boot to 252.
I have changed cables, switched drives between master and slave, reburned CD's and am not sure if there is a way to find out what is up with this. I have also tried successfully to use one drive. A tivo with 25 hours isnt too useful if you know what I mean.
Thanks for any suggestions.
