DSR6000 xtreme2.5.2 install issues. I run the upgrade, but it doesn't happen

I loaded 25xtreme on the unit with no issues. It works fine. I then ran upgrd252.sh from the CD and it stats that the install went fine.

But, when I turn on the unit I get a screen that Tivo is installing new software, then I get the phillips slash screen, then the aquiring sat crap screen. The system boots fine, but it still has 2.5.1 on it

Can someone suggest what I should try with this thing.

After you installed v25xtreme and before you installed the v252 xupgrade did you put the HD back into dtivo and let it boot at least once?

Yes, sure did. I've worked on this issue a little more. It looks like a HD issue..

after I installed the upgrade to 252 I walked a way while it was booting so I didn't see the bootup sequence... then I tried to reupgrade and this didn't work.

Last night I reinstalled xtreme2.5 and that went well, then I upgraded to 252 and put it in the tivo. It booted up and upgraded the databases. Then I got the green screen of death for a while and the system rebooted... aparently it restored 2.5. So I'm going to test the HD fdisk it and try again.

I'm having the same issue..

the cd doesnt seem to upgrade the cd..

my unit reboots and says loading new software, but remains on 2.5

you cant upgrade to 2.5.2 without rebooting from the 2.5 cd, for the record.

well the issue was my HD. Well the drive started squeaking when it was spinning up. I replaced the drive and i'm cool now... well except for that I put on the wrong 25xtreme image and now my remote doesn't work. I have to use my t60 remote with it.

Does anyone know what I need to change to get the phillips remote to work again.

I'm having the same issue BUT I know its not the hard drive..

everything else works, I had 2.5.2 from an image on it before but the xplusz hacks wouldnt install becuase I dont have a cable and trying to install via floppy, but it wont kick over, and yes I have the 4-17-03 upgrade script on the disk from the posting, it still errors out.

I cant upgrade from xupgrade becuase it doesnt kick in, each time i boot it says tivo is updating something but its not upgraded to 2.5.2 with the tools... its very fustrating... almost there but not quite.

Im getting my cable by wednesday I guess I'll be trying then.

Any suggestions?

Well, it sounds like the system is booting with the wrong root partition.

I would suggest you reload xtreme 2.5 and re do the upgrade.

BTW, I found a script in this forum to fix my remote problem. The cool thing is that the SA series 2 tivo's and the DSR's remotes use the same codes.

I've done flash upgrades several times and i cant seem to get 2.5.2 working with the hacks on it....

ive got 2.5 working right now, ill use that till the cable comes..

i know the 2.5.2 software is on there, and it tries to install it each time, but it wont kick over...

i get the tivo upgrade with every reboot..
