I extremed a 120 gig hd with 2.5 answered the questions ran tivo all works except the amount of recording time shows 28 hours ?? can i reinstall extreme2.5 right over my hd again and will i have to rerun the hacks ?? can i teraterm any programs with the serial port to expand the drive ??thanks in advance.

You probably didn't run DTiVomad when you installed v25xtreme. Put the HD back into your PC, boot from the v25xtreme CD, and enter this to run DTiVomad:
/maddtb4/setupcd.sh
make sure you answer no to the question about having 2 drives.

can i do it thru the serial port or must i put the hd back in my pc thanks and if i must put it back in the pc do i type the madd line at the boot prompt or at the tbd login prompt? thanks

You can't do it from serial bash, you have to put the HD back into PC. Boot from CD, login as root and when you get bash prompt on PC type in that command and asnwer the questions.

iam sorry for being a linux newbie but would to login as root i would hit enter at the boot and enter at the tbd login and at /# prompt type ? to login as root again sorry for the basic questions

You should get a message right before the first bash prompt, something like "you may now login as root". Just type in root..
