installed a samsung 120 gig in my gxcebot series 1 put 2.5 extreme and as per super re ran tivo madd but in the system info still shows only 28 hours any way to check drive size thru serial port ??

You might have a jumper set on the drive that limits the size. Check Samsung documentation.

thanks super you are right i had the jumper set on 32 gig max when i installed ex2.5 but after setting the jumper for general settings and running tivo madd it still showed only 28 hours of recording ?? do i need to reinstall ex2.5 all over from the start ?

I'm not sure, but you could try running DTiVomad. If that doesn't work start over and install v25xtreme.

will i lose everything on the drive ?? and will it need to reflash the prom again thanks

Running just DTiVomad won't cause you to lose your recordings, etc., but installing v25xtreme again will lose everything. There might be other ways to expand the size with MFS Tools 2.0, go here. (http://www.newreleasesvideo.com/hinsdale-how-to/) Don't worry about the prom, if it's already been flashed it won't be flashed again.
