Hi. I'm relatively new at this but am looking for suggestions. Upgrading my 60 hr Series 2 to 306 hours has bolstered my confidence!
I have a Series 2 with Lifetime Sub but also have an original standalone Tivo Series 1 SVR 2000 with system 1.3 on it. We've just been using it as a manual VCR.
I'd like to update the software (haven't called in in 3 years), but I was afraid I'd lose the ability to record manually (is that true?).
I'd like the ability to extract programs to my PC or Mac. I'd like to install ethernet and possibly use a wireless adapter. I'd like to get rid of the nag screens. Sharing programs back and forth with my Series 2 would be nice, but I haven't really seen that option as I've lurked here (not without getting HMO and sub on Series 1).
Any suggestions for starting out are appreciated. I'm pretty good with macs and PCs and have some (albeit rudimentary) linux experience.
