Backing up Dtivo Hard Drives

Hello,

I have a Philips DSR, which I added an extra drive to and tons of hacks and tweaks. I am at 2.5.01. I just bought a Turbonet card, and have read until my eyes have crossed.

In the readme, SZ says to back up the harddrives before proceeding. Is this because all the recorded shows etc, will be erased?

How do I backup the HDs?

Also, I believe that I installed the NoScramble hack a long time ago. Will I be able to extract my programs to burn to DVD if I install the XUpgrade to 2.5.2?

No I don't have a single HD backup. How does one make a backup anyhow? Just ghost the drive with Norton Ghost?

Since I have 2 HDs (160 GBs) filled with programs, I think I might not do the backup.

If I install 2.5.2, will I no longer be able to view the stuff stored on my HDs?

If you use the xupgrade, not a mfs backup image, you should keep all your recordings. But stuff happens and that's why I recommend doing a backup.
