i've been using xtreme25 fine for a long time.
In trying to upgrade to 252 to hopefully get locals again, and perhaps have more consistant luck with noppv (some days yes, some days no)

In using the bash prompt, the dir /var/hack was gone
var was there, i added a hack dir to it, and got Upgrd252.tcl and V252.tar into it, when i did the ./Upgrd252.tcl it gave permission denied, tried copying the file several different ways, always the same results.

there is a hack dir off my root and has several dirs in it
root lib bin

when i transfered the files in tera term it changed all files to caps, i copied and deleted to the orig and tried variation of caps and no caps.. still no dice.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated
thanks.

did you make sure that the tcl script was executable? chmod a+x Upgrd252.tcl

Got back in the dir and changed the attr to read/write but still couldn't install due to a error.
Think i'm going to forget the bash and just do a install with the drive in the computer.. I feel kinda bashed out.
Thanks to you folks who tried to help :)

smoothie, I had the same problem. renamed the files and made executable as suggested and BINGO!! Updating as I type.
Actually this was done over the phone with the wifey.:D She typed in the commands that I gave over the phone, she loves her TIVO!!:D :D
It did hang at WPU but did a power cycle and it's making it's updates.

Many THANKS to Surgeon, BubbaJ, Chipster, Kraven, MrBlack, GoneSilent, Electron, Formula and who ever else had a hand in this and all the other mods.
