Never seen this before .. DSR6000 was in a reboot cycle that i traced to the TurboNet .. so i uninstalled the turbonet, did a fresh 25xtreme install .. it just sat there at Now Powering up .. no prom flash reboot no "Just a few more seconds" just sat there let it go 30 mins.
So i thought ok maybe a HD died .. so i tried the same scenario with each of the drives running as a single A drive .. same thing every time just hung on the "Now powering up" screen ..
Then i thought well duh i must be trying to use the Sony disk on a DSR6000 ! So i went and redownloaded dsr6000xtreme25 from tivostuff.com , reburned, reinstalled .. same problem (and comparing file sizes i was using the phillips disk before as well)
I'm out of ideas .. the HD's test out fine .. what could cause this hanging at now powering up screen ? (like i said the turbonet is even disconnected from the MB, no sat in, no card in just the power and video out cables .. )
Did you check that you plugged the fan back in?
I've done this one myself before.

Check all of you connections, especially the small ribbon cable between the power supply and the main board. There have literally been hundreds of posts on the "stuck on Powering up" screen scenario so look around. You could be having a power supply problem that's preventing your DTivo from booting. Check the voltages at the drive power connector with everything still plugged in. You should be seeing +12VDC on the red wire and about +5.3VDC on the yellow wire with respect to ground (black wires). If the voltage is close but maybe a little low you can adjust the voltage with the adjustment screw on the power supply board. It's located at the edge near the partition between the power supply and mainboard and about 1/4 of the way from the front of the power supply board (near the front panel).
Leaving the fan unplugged won't prevent your DTivo from booting up. Mine came from the factory with the fan unplugged and it booted just fine. You DTivo will get very warm and may reboot if it gets too hot but it should boot from a cold start without any problems.

Captain,
Thank you very much for your helpful reply .. unfortuantely I still have not resolved the issue .. I reseated the cable between PS and MB with no luck (it was in 100% to begin with) I have a multi meter but am unable to get any reading sticking it in the red&black or yellow&black of the hd power cable .. yet i know there is power as the drives power up and spin up .. I did searches like listed below and almost everything had to do with people messing up rc.sysinit files which isn't the case here .. any other ideas ?

Replace that ribbon cable and if that doesn't work then replace the harddrive.

Make sure the power cable is connected to the hard drives as you make the measurement. Tivos use a switching power supply. All voltage measurements must be made with the power supply feeding a load or you won't get any accurate readings.

welcome to the club.
I have been fighting this exact problem for 10 days and am going to ship it off for repair today.
I still think its a prom problem. Hashed or trashed, and nobody seems to know how to rewrite it without xtreme.
There are still a lot of tivo problems nobody has found answers to except the authorized service centers and they dont talk to the lowly ones.
Good luck I sure would like to know what you find.......
