Another locals problem....

No more TBA on the locals...but, not I get a guide that says, "Upcoming:cops" or "Upcoming:This or that" .... The current data is gone. What's up with this???

hi gregg,
you have holes in your guide data. what version are you running? how many locals are you trying to get? is your locals byte set to the locals you are having trouble with?

if you are using ver 3.1 you can pull up the guide and highlight the channel and it will tell you if the guide data is complete or has holes and what the last date it will have guide data for that channel. i have no idea if it does this with 2.52 or not.

I'm using 2.5.2 I'm attempting to gather 2 sets of locals...Clev & DC. Cleveland stays put, but D/C wains and gives me problems.

ok....you must keep that locals byte on the city you are NOT having problems with. this is the way it works for me-

I have a dsr6000 at 3.1 with xplusz and the 3 LNB sat dish. i went a little overboard about the same time the stream changed and tried to get 12 local markets needless to say it took 2 weeks and gave me a headache. the locals guide never stayed up on most of them so i have gone to just two local markets (ATL, LAS) atlanta and las vegas. now at this time i leave the guide byte on LAS and do the midupdate @ 108 and life is good. now the problem is every 10 days or so i have to reset mvchannels and change the locals byte to ATL then do a midupdate @ 10 and leave on overnight to get the ATL locals guide to populate then go back in and set it for LAS and do a #60,1,43 (or whatever the numbers are) to get LAS and ATL for another 10 days before the guide data on ATL fades away "to be announced" or when you have hole in the guide data you get "upcoming: barney" or whatever and i have to start it all over again.

at this timeI have not been able to get 2 local markets to stay in guide data without this "song and dance". if someone can make life easier on me then please tell me how !:)
