Donít slam me for posting this since the search tool does not allow 2 character searches. (IR)

I have a Sony Sat T-60 and a Hughes GXCEBOT DTivo. Both of these units have an IR port on the back.

The Sony came with a cable that contains IR LEDs, which plugs into the IR port and allows the DTivo to start and stop the VCR remotely when sending recorded programs to tape. In the Dtivos setup there is a parameter to setup the remote codes depending on which type of Sony, and only Sony, VCR you have. BTW: I bought this new and Xtremed it. Also the VCR parameter was native.

The Hughes DTivo does not have a VCR set up. I bought this used and it was xtremed already with the Phillips image. I re-xtremed it 2.52. Still no VCR set up.

I have seen an original image for the Hughes or Phillips DTivo so I donít know if it ever came with a VCR setup.

So my question is: What is the IR port for on the Hughes GXCEBOT and Phillips DSR 6000 DTivos for?

I don't think it's supported by any other models but the Sony.
