can i clone my drive

just got a dsr 6000 r01 with life/time from e bay,i dont think it is hacked it said i had to call to get my sub turn on, my ? is do i have to clone my harddrive ?. i think it comes with 30hd but i would like to upgrade to 80 hd , can i just copy the hd to the 80 hd and then call tvio ? if anybody has something to say pls just add to this post pls. joe thx
