Hello,

I have setup DirectTivo successfully on four or five units now(phillips DSR6000's).

My sister does not have access to the DTV. No SW exposure so cable is the necessity.

I am looking for a suggestion for what she can use for Tivo. She has digital cable.

Is there a place to find out what/how she would need to get setup to do this?

Thanks. Sorry if this is such a newbie post. I did need to get started at one time with the DSR6000's so I figured a new challenge for me.

A standalone Tivo should work fine with digital cable. The only sticking point may be whether or not the Tivo has the proper remote codes to be able to control the digital cable box using the IR extender. You should also check to see if the cable box has a serial control input that will work with the Tivo as it changes channels much faster and usually more reliably than the IR extender. You should check with Tivo to see if the PVR is compatible with the cable equipment.
