It has been a while since I hacked my Sony T-60 and I am stuck. My Dual Drives seem to have gone bad and the picture freezes after i do a forward/backward search. I decided to replace the two drives with a WD 7200 80 gig drive. I installed 25xtreme on the drive and ran madtivo and it seemed to run fine. After installing the drive, attaching my serial cable and rebooting...the power up starts twice and i see a script or error messages on the hyperterminal...i wait for the database to restore and when i reboot again i dont get any bash. I also get a green screen that says critical error and to leave the tivo attached to a phone line for 24 hrs and not to mess with it. I have tried to install a 30gig and 40 gig image on the drive with the same results. Any ideas? green screen and no bash...help!!!

The green screen indicates that there is a problem with the file system and the Tivo is attempting to correct the problem. The Tivo will usually fix the problem on its own and return to normal operation in as little as 15 minutes or as long as 24 - 48 hours, depending on the severity of the problem. I would just leave the Tivo plugged in and let it try and fix itself. I've seen the GSOD (green screen of death) on several occasions and the Tivo has always sorted itself out. You probably won't get bash until it recovers.

I forget the site, but if your GSOD doesn't go away within 48 hours, you can try downloading a disk image off of the ftp server (i forget the address, ask around) and try to restore it to your Tivo. You will lose all of your settings and will have to rehack it, but at least it will work.

Disk image links can be found in the How Tos Only sticky in the DTivo hacking forum or at the 9th Tee website.

The same thing happen to me 3 days ago, I repit the process over and over again (load the image and then run tivomad) withow succes.
Then I tryed just loading the image withow using the TIVOMAD and it's working! (the only problem is that my directv/tivo says 35hrs)
I am not quite sure what's happening but I find your message trying to find and answer to mine. Please let us know if you worked out.

I downloaded a new image and ran madtivo but didnt get the error this time. It was good to know that the GSOD does repair itself in time, but it was better not getting it this time around. I now have no freezing and 67 hrs. Thanks for your help.
