Howdy. Are there instructions somewhere to install debian on a series 1?

Why would you want to install a full-blown Linux kernel on a Tivo?

Someone must have told you that it is inpolite to answer a question with a question.
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God installed the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, "apt-get install light"; and there was light...

Well someone obviously never told you that you'd never get an answer to your question without supplying all the facts.

It may well be a very similar procedure...
Still a series 1 is a ppc and a series 2 is a mips.
As for why I would want debian:
apt (advanced package managment tool)
I know debian and I like it...
If i can't get a definite answer here i will go to the expert forum. I went through google and th search before I bothered this forum.

i figured that was obvious and implied...guess i should have been more specific. basically, as long as the ppc executables that debian provides will work on the tivo, you should be able to use the link i posted as a basic guide, and then develop your own process from there.
