This is a tech special... I have $250.00 into this unit and am giving up. I purchased it off of E-Bay thinking I could repair it, but it is now beyond me.

It has a brand new power supply I purchased from weaknees. Before I put the new power supply in it, it would do nothing... After the new power supply, I had it booting and locking up on the wait one moment screen. I then narrowed it down to a bad LNBP chip and did a terrible job trying to remove the chip.

The way it stands is the old LNBP chip is still on the board but some prongs have been removed. The unit will not power up.

Here's what you get GXCEBOT, Philips Remote, New Power Supply, cord.... For $125 + shipping... I will throw in the extremed hard drive for an additional $40.00 (Western Digital 40 Gig)...

Right now I am just trying to cut my losses... PM me if you are interested... I will be away for a couple of days and returning on Saturday... If I don't hear from anybody by then, then I will post it on EBay....

That chip number is LNBP15SP. If anybody is parting out a dead unit I'm looking for one of these chips to fix my second tuner problem.
Thanks

I tried ST and their distributors, but two of them would not sell to individuals and another would only sell in a lot of 1000. Also tried www.hrent.com, summitelectronics, and 1sourcecomponents. No joy yet.
