Setting up the telnet daemon

Ok, I've searched for a long time. I have a T60 and just installed turbonet. Can ping fine, but can't telnet. How do I set-up the daemon on the TiVo? The 9thtee documentation implies that this will work after going through their guide (http://www.silicondust.com/turbonet/install_software.html)

Ok, got it working by running the nic part of the set-up. I thought I didn't have to do this as I have 3.1, but I guess I did need to.

I now have a coveted BASH prompt. The weird thing is that a lot of the commands seem to work fine - cd, mkdir, help, etc. but the ls command won't!

Any ideas about this?
