Well, I seem that have screwed this up beyond belief....lol
Here is my situation, I have 2.5.2 installed and I am running tivoweb with dual 120gig drives. I just moved and since setting everything back up I can't get my tivoweb to work. I am tryin to get into the bash prompt using my laptop, but that wont work either. I have had problems in the past using my laptop to connect through the seiral port so this is nothing new. Given my new place my desktop pc is not very close to my tivo and moving the PC to the tivo is a pain, and moving the tivo to the desktop will require that I will have to unplug the tivo and if I power it down I seem to have the same problems when I restart.
I have tried to connect the tivo directly to my router and when I do that when I check the DHCP Clients to see where the tivo is it does not show up. I just bought a cross over cable and I tried to connect using that and my laptop, but what IP address would I be looking for?
Any suggestions on what I need to do to get my laptop working with serial port? Or, how can I connect using the crossover cable or through the router?
