My hd sounds like a friggen clock. There's always hd activity. Kind of sounds like a computer does during defrag. Is this normal? Or there someway to curtail this?

It's normal for the HD to be very busy. Remember the live buffers for both tuners are always being written to the HD unless it's tuned to a non-existent channel. But take the cover off and make sure it's not the fan which can make noises when the bearing is going bad.

I have put an image of my own for a T60 3.1 HU setup on a bootable MFS Tools CD using WinISO 4.1. I noticed your upgrade CD is rather automated and has the ability to flash the prom for a user who has not yet done that. Can you give me some pointers on how I might create something similar? Mine is not an upgrade but rather a complete replacement. I have the image here currently (ftp://208.189.116.28/) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will give credit wherever you feel it is warranted.

You better double-check that image. WinISO has a nasty habit of truncating long file names to 8.3, which will totally mess things up.

I think that has been fixed in the new version of 4.1. Also, included in the ISO is a file called tivo.bak which was NOT created using that program. So the only thing that would be affected is the bootable portion of the CD. Thanks for the heads up bubblelamp as always.
