I am about to install my TurboNet card. I've spent some time searching the threads and haven't found solid answers to my questions so far.

I understand that on v3.1 you enable/disable the daily call over TurboNet using the dialing prefix. How is this accomplished on v2.5.2 (using xupgrade from 25Xtreme)?

I've read conflicting reports. Some say that 2.5.2 will do the daily call automatically with no modifications. I read another message from Superzap that this isn't true, and the xupgrade 2.5.2 will not make daily calls over TurboNet without modification.

I have read methods to prevent the daily call over TurboNet are:
1) Change the device name from eth0 to net0.
2) Set default gateway to invalid number.
3) Block outbound packets from Tivo via firewall.

I have not found anything explaining how to enable the daily calls over TurboNet in the first place on v2.5.2 xupgrade, assuming Superzap is correct and the daily calls will not work over Turbonet without modification.

Are you sure you want the v2.5.2 daily call? What's the point since it is likely that you will be upgraded to v3.1.0 on the first call?

No, I don't want the daily call. More than anything I want confirmation that it won't do the daily call over TurboNet. I was just confused with all the information of how to disable it. Why do people post information on how to disable it if it isn't enabled in the first place?

I just really want to understand how the daily call is enabled/disabled on 2.5.2. If it is truly disabled on 2.5.2 xupgrade, how was this accomplished?

With the v252 xupgrade, no worries about it making the daily call over ethernet because it's uses net0 and the daily call uses eth0.

Good to know. So this means when I update to the newer TurboNet driver, I need to use the modified one for net0 that I found from you in another thread. Thanks!
