recording episode black lists

is there a way to make my tivo not record shows from a list that i create? i.e. i don't want my tivo to record the same episode after i have deleted that episode from my tivo. is this posible?

If you set up your season passes to record first run episodes only the Tivo will not record them if they're aired again within 30 days of their initial showing. Other than that your only recourse is to scan your To Do list every week or so and delete any unwanted recordings that are scheduled.

theres nothing i can hack in the file system on the tivo that would fake it to think that the files are still on the tivo or somthing? cuz the 'first run' option only works for first air dates. the shows im recording are old shows via re-run only broadcasts only from the 90's.

Actually, the Tivo considers anything that hasn't aired within the last 30 days as first-run.

You sure about that? I'm reasonably sure that it uses the (R)epeat field from the description. I have several first run only SP's and they haven't gotten hits for several weeks.

The tivo does use the repeat flag to determine first run or not....

That post you refer to is completely wrong.

I did alot of testing on first run and repeats.

OAD is used to determine if it is first run, if oad=date, then it does do it.

If the Premier flag is set, it is also considered first run

If repeat flag is set, it is NOT first run

If repeat flag is NOt set, then it is considered first run and checked against other runs of the same program name/title in the 28 day history.

The easiest way to check this is with the CBS program last year, 'the agency'. They never set the OAD for them, but the tivo knew first run vs repeat, and I used it for days to figure out the SBits values and what they did.
