I just got a Sony SAT-T60 and replaced the original 30 g & 15 G drives with a single WD 120BB right out of the box. I installed the sony 25xtreme with no problems. I put the new HD back in an old computer that I am using for the modifications and booted the upgrade.iso CD. At the linux # I had to enter "cd /cdrom/upgrd252" then "upgrd252.sh" to start the process. When it asked me what device the TIVO A drive was attached to I responded with hdb and I got the following
:/cdrom/live/bin/upgrd252.sh :ebpout: read only file system
cat: ebpout: no such file or directory
boot parm on hdb unreconized="
It then aborts the upgrade. This has occurred when using two different download sites. How to I correct this ?
Thanks for any & all help.
Ken

Which IDE channel was the TiVo A drive connected to and was it strapped as the master or slave on that channel?

It was set up as hdb & as slave.

After you put xtreme on your hard drive did you put it back in your tivo and let it boot? If so, try putting the drive in the secondary master when you do the upgrade ( this will be hdc). It sounds like it's seeing your CD and that's why it's read only?

Yes I did have the HD in the TIVO unit and running using the 25xtreme software. After many different combination I finally got the 252Xupgrade to work by using the #2 method of installation and the -p option to re-flash the prom. Now I am trying to get my locals to come in. Thanks for all the help and having all the threads available. I never would have been able to do this on my own.
