View Full Version : Tivoweb error while trying to setup recording

I have got a DSR6000 running 2.5.2. with Superzaps' upgrade. Everything seems to be running great Tivoweb included except when I try to setup a show for recording. I get the following error:
INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
--cut here--
action_record '' 'set "quality" "100";set "kal" "2";set "startearly" "0";set "endlate" "0";set "objectid" "65146/11";set "conflictslist" "";set "Record" "Record";'
can't read "objectid": no such variable
while executing
"string index $objectid 0"
(procedure "::action_record" line 2)
invoked from within
"::action_$action $chan $part $env"
("eval" body line 1)
invoked from within
"eval {::action_$action $chan $part $env}"
--cut here--
I relize that tivoweb was primarily designed to work with SA tivos therefore it doesn't support some of the features of the Dtivos but I thought recording would be supported. Any ideas?

I am running 2.52 with xplusz. I am getting the same error as above when I pick something to record and click on it. I have read all the links and threads from my search.
I first tried to use JJbliss method of overwritting the files with the latest deloused version of tivoweb. I first deleted the 0ui.itcl file from the modules directory as one user suggested. The overwrite was successful, but I received the same error
I then deleted all the files and directories of tivoweb-tcl, images and modules. I then loaded the latest deloused version of tivo web and received the same error.
In my reading I was intrigued by a post by alldeadhomiez, but am not skilled enough to implement his fix. (if someone could break it down for me I would love to try it.
I also read where Superzap was receiving the same error in a test. He said to delete these files the tivoweb was pointing to
Pasted below
"Those of you still having problems, make sure you get rid of these files:
/tvbin/noppv.tcl
/tvbin/sc.tcl
/tvbin/fixsub.tcl"
I have yet to try this fix yet because I wanted to know if I would have to live without these to make tivoweb work. I would like to keep the showcases and the noppv working if I could. Does following his advice to delete these files make them not available?
I also posted this reply to an existing thread that was in the hacking forum. If this is not the proper forum would someone please move it.
I really have tried to get this working before posting these questions. The posts from my recent searches have seemed to tail off as of late. So I am assuming that either everyone is fixed or some have given up or moved on.
Thanks in advance

Follow the link that superzap just provided. It fixed mine last week.

Thanks for the reply.
I did follow the link and also some threads that came up in my search on my problem. Trying the deloused version has not worked for me, either by overwritting as JJbliss suggests or by deleting the tivoweb-tcl directory and files and them mkdir a tivoweb-tcl directory back and following his directions in a new fresh directory.
I have not tried Superzaps fix of removing the noppv.tcl, sc.tcl, fixsub.tcl files until I find out what that does to those programs. I am assuming that he is trading those hacks for the tivoweb. I could live without the showcase but I like to use the noppv option. I have no idea what the fixsub does. I am thinking it has something to do with the lifetime sublevel 5 which I would be interested in keeping also.
Depending on the answer to my above questions, I am considering trying to go backwards to tivoweb 1.93. I am wondering if that version has problems with some additional code as 1.94 does.
What I really wanted to try was what "alldeadhomiez" posted about some editing of the files. The problem with this is that I haven't a clue on how to do this and was looking for some feedback on if anyone has tried it with success and maybe a little tutorial to get me through it.
Tivoweb is cool, but without being able to select a recording either from the search or suggestions it has minimal value to me.
Thanks for all input on this.

If you used xupgrade, you don't need those files as superzap said in the above link.
I just downloaded the zip that he provided in that post and replaced the two files on my Tivo with the one's in the zip and it got rid of the server error. Those are the only changes made to the version of Tivo-web that came in xupgrade.
zip contains 2 files, ui.itcl and util.itcl.
replace ui.itcl in /tivoweb-tcl/modules
replace util.itcl in /tivoweb-tcl

I am running 2.52 which i upgraded with xupgrade from 2.5
I use xplusz to turn on noppv and sc.tcl
i run noppv with #3,28800
Are you saying that if I delete 3 files that Superzap says in the tvbin directory, then they would still be functional?
Kind of a file duplication?
I am confused a little
Bottom line...noppv is more important to me than tivoweb
Please advise
Also, I have changed the filename of the ui.itcl file in the modules directory to 0ui.itcl when I moved the files manually
When i extracted per JJblisses instructions, it did it for me.
(i went ahead and deleted the 0ui.itcl file first before the extaction, just to make sure)
I just checked and I don't have any of the 3 files listed by Superzap (noppv.tcl, sc.tcl, fixsub.tcl) in my /tvbin directory.
should i look elsewhere for them?
Superzaps instructions said to get the zip file with the 3 files in it (ui.itcl, util.itcl, httpd-tt.tcl)
He then says to replace them.
Is this necessary if I have the deloused version of 1.94 loaded?
If so, do I change the name of the ui.itcl file to 0ui.itcl in this fix?

You are trying to combine two fixes. I had a clean install of xtreme25 and upgraded with xupgrade.
When I finally got around to using tivoweb, I started getting the Infernal Server Error. So I found that post that superzap made and he has linked to above. Disregard the other posts in the thread and just look at superzap's.
There are only to files in the zip.
This (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=79985) has two files in it. I didn't touch sc.tcl noppv, etc. I didn't rename anything.
I simply downloaded the zip. Extracted it, and transferred them to the correct directory per his instructions. Rebooted the Tivo. No more errors.
I didn't worry about the sc, noppv, and fixsub specifically because when I re-did my Tivo several weeks ago, I never installed those when it was at 2.5. I immediately took the system to 2.5.2 after the fresh install of 2.5. Superzap stated Those files are not installed by xupgrade so you probably don't have them. so I didn't worry about it. I had noppv(from xplusz) active before doing this mod and it is still active.
Again, I downloaded the file. Unzipped it. and tranferred the 2 files to the proper location(which overwrote the old files). That's all I did dude. Rebooted. Worked like a charm.

The gory details
Thanks to all for the advice
The end result was I am still having the above error when I try and record
Started with 2.5 for my Sony DTivo
Put drives back in Tivo and let it update.
Pulled drives and installed 2.52 from the xupgrade.
Installed Turbonet Card
Installed Drives in Tivo Let update System running perfectly
Used Xplusz to run favorite commands noppv, noscramble, get locals, FTP, Showcase, TivoWEB... Everything running perfect.
Am able to FTP, Telnet and get bash from Tivo through Turbonet.
Installed Tivoweb 1.94 from authors site. followed directions and the Tivoweb screen came up.
Went to record something from the suggestions and received the above error.
Read, Searched, Asked, Pleaded, etc. about problem
First tried JJBliss method of overwriting files with deloused 1.94
No workie
Deleted all directories pertaining to Tivoweb-tcl.
Installed fresh version of deloused 1.94 checking to make sure that the ui.itcl file was named correctly 0ui.ictl
NO workie
Took Superzaps fix with general disaray help and I deleted both ui.itcl and util.ictl files I loaded the new ones from Superzaps post in their respective directory.
No workie
Each download of a file I made sure it was FTP'd in Binary
I restarted the Tivoweb after each fix with tivosh /var/hack/tivoweb-tcl/httpd-tt.tcl &
I rebooted IRD
I accesed Tivoweb with my browser
When screen came up I reload completely in the restart directory
I have always renamed ui.itcl to 0ui.itcl before moving to Tivo
End Result Same error message as above when I choose to record a program with no conflicts from suggestion menu
I am out of fixes. Hopefully by listing everything out someone might see an error I did.
Thanks for reading and helping

I have always renamed ui.itcl to 0ui.itcl before moving to Tivo
Why are you renaming it? Don't do that!!!!!!!!
There are 2 files on the tivo that need to be replaced with 2 newer versions. Those newer files are in the zip.
one is ui.itcl
and the other is util.itcl
Transfer those to the porper directory!!!!
Don't rename anything......
Replace the older files with the newer ones in the proper directory. That rename shit is your problem.
Since you are renaming it before you transfer, the OLD ui.tcl is still on your Tivo.
THAT is why it is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unzip the file and DON'T change the names. Transfer to the proper directories thus overwriting the older files.
Reboot.

Thanks again for the help and interest in my problem.
For the record
I have never once had a file named ui.itcl in the modules directory.
I have always renamed it 0ui.itcl. This is because I read that it need to be done because the way the files load, this file needed to load first and it loads files by numbers and then letter order.
Perhaps this is my error. I will try and put it in as just the original name ui.itcl, but I will tell you this. There is not and has never been a leftover file named ui.ictl
I also noticed that after I deleted tivoweb-tcl, modules, and images directories and loaded a fresh install of JJBliss file of the deloused version of 1.94, that the file it extacted in the modules directory was named 0ui.itcl (for whatever it's worth)
I have taken the utmost care to delete the files I have replaced, or verified that they went away with an overwrite.
With all this testing I have become very familiar with the file names in the 3 directories that Tivoweb installs (Tivoweb-tcl, modules, images)
I have found a a file named fixsub.tcl in my /var/hack directory. In Superzaps post he said to look for the 3 offending files in the /tvbin directory. I did not have any of the 3 files there. (Probably because of my install of 2.5 to 2.52 at the same time, loaded one right after the other with database rebuild in the Tivo in between.
As I said before, my system works great with the exception of this Tivoweb problem.
I will post my results.
I do appreciate your time to answer my questions

I tried deleting 0ui.itcl from the modules directory and then loading ui.itcl from the Superzap post in this thread and I get the same results.
I restarted a telnet sessin and did a full reload after the changes.
Is everyone running 1.94 out there? I sanyone running 1.93 with good results?

I know this is an old post but I was having the problem and found this thread on a search. I just wanted to let anyone searching know that I did what is listed here and it solved the problem for me. I tried restarting TivoWeb but it still didn't work. I had to reboot the unit and it's been fine since. Thanks SuperZap!! :)
