My first upgrade was to add a 120Gig drive to my Sony T60.
I put 2.5 on and expanded the drives (40 and 120) This worked perfectly. I then upgraded to 2.52 through bash. It also worked perfectly. Somewhere in one of the 2 seperate things I did I saw the option to say that I had drives over 140 Gig total and expand the area. I did that expand option.

I then later changed the 40 gig out to a new 120. This way I would have two 120's. I backed up the drives for the to do list and etc. and did not save the recordings. I restored and expanded with mfsadd per Hinsdales instructions.

I did not see the option where it asked about the total space being over 140gig. Would this already be set because I restored the original image?
It works fine now and the hours are 225, but I don't want a future problem
Thanks

You only get the option when installing 2.5Xtreme. MFS Tools doesn't prompt you for the disc capacity to set up the swap file. You need to know ahead of time so you can input the correct command when performing an image restore.

So are you saying that it might not have been done?
Remember, I did set this up when I did the original install of 2.5
Since I reused that image wouldn't it be already done?
If not, is there a way to check without tearing out the drives again
Thanks

If you had the single 120GB drive as your A drive and your 40GB drive as your B drive, I believe all you would have to do is bless the new 120GB drive as your B drive to have the Tivo OS recognize the additional capacity. Doublecheck Hinsdale's to be sure as I wouldn't want to send you down the wrong path. I don't have my copy of Hinsdale's in front of me and I'm trying to rely on my failing memory which sometimes deserts me.

If you increased the swap file when you xtremed the drive, then the drives will still have the larger swap file when you restore the backup.

Thanks for the input.
My original system was a 40 gig A drive and I added a 120 gig B drive.
I selected the swap file expansion at the time I installed 2.5. I then upgraded to 2.52 through bash.
Later I added another 120 gig drive to replace the 40 gig A drive.
I backed up both drives and did the restore and expand at the same time option in Hinsdales.
So if I understand your answer, Then I can assume that it has the enlarged swap file from the restore.
In hindsight I realize I should have put the 120 gig as the A drive originally and the 40 gig as the B drive and I would have had an easier upgrade.
The upgrade I did went smoothly, but I was concerned it did not ask me again about the swap file.
Thanks again
