Hey
i posted something in the newbie section but no one answered=(
i'll try my luck here
friday i purchased a Hughes Series 1 Directivo
I made a backup of the virgin...then threw on 25Xtreme
now it gets stuck rebooting...I used a static band(To not short anything out staticly)so im pretty sure its not the power supply.
Any other idea's?What else am i supposed to do after i restore the image? It gives me that 93% compression error but the Pitou site said to ignore that and just put it back in the dtivo.
any suggestions?
thanks
Oh yeah this is after a low level format
thanks

Try reloading the 2.5Xtreme image or use a different image from another source. The one from www.tivostuff.com is supposed to work quite well.

You need to let the TiVo sit for a while, after 2.5.1 before going on to 2.5.2. It needs to create the database, before you can alter it with 2.5.2. I usually let mine sit for an hour or more, just to be sure.
The -p is not necessary, as you have already flashed the prom by installing 2.5.1 the first time. Once its flashed, its flashed.

Ok everything works now yey!=D
heres another question...when you turn off scrambleing do you lose the ability to compress shows?(Best quality, good qualityetc) or does directivo just have 1 quality?
info screen said variable 25 hours...
i think its time for a big HD=/
Also...its been on for 10 hours now...i still get the check back in 30 minutes for alot of shows so i can set up my season passes...
is this normal?what should i do?
says it still needs to process some information...10 hours later=)
lemme know if i should just be patient or if theres something wrong ;)
thanks again for all the help!

The DirecTivo only has one quality- direct digital recording. It's recording the digital stream right off the satellite so you can't change the record settings like you can with a standalone Tivo. It can take up to 48 hours or more for the guide data to fill in enough for you to set up season passes so be patient.
