Ive had a tivo for a year now (standard philips standalone) with just plain old analog cable tv.

Now I have Digial Cable and cant figure out how to hook the tivo up to work with thecable box.

Its the plain old motorola set top digital cable box.

To my understanding you have to use a serial cable or a ir connection.

Does anyone have any diagrams or any instructions on how to make my standalone tivo work with digital cable?

**side note - my tv doesnt have rca inputs just rf cable **

Any help is appreciated - this is driving me nuts.

Set up your cable box just like you would a satellite receiver. You probably have stereo audio outputs and either an S-video or composite video output from the cable box. Connect these to a free set of input jacks on the back of your Tivo and go through the guided setup. You will step through the setup and specify what is connected to each set of inputs on the back of the Tivo. I haven't set up a SA Tivo in years but I would imagine that current versions of the Tivo OS provide for selecting digital cable boxes in addition to DTV, Dish, and conventional cable boxes. You should also be prompted for the provider in your area that carries the digital cable so you can get the guide data.
