I have been working over a few other things in my mind over the last little while. I have been building the re-import method from my earlier attempts at VOB files as I made a number of disks where I want to re-vob the streams in the new working mode but I no longer have the TyStreams...

So for those that have split A/V files from TyStreams. But deleted the TyStreams a long long time ago...

If a stream is "good" i.e. no holes I have come up with a way to import that data and turn it into VOB files etc... so that all of the new processes can be used with it.

For those that are curious I think the best way to test this is to use VirtualDub and just manually check the sync. I have no way to repair damaged streams in that mode. But again for the good streams there is something that I can do.

So anyone in this boat? Anyone interested in this kind of thing? If not I will just not bother with building it as I don't personally need it at all.

I have a lot of split files and would like a way to put them back to ty so I'm definitely interested.

I have lots of shows with commercials still intact that I've burned to DVD. Would it be possible to demux the VOBs to create the split files and then somehow be able to edit them like we can with TyTool? I would love to be able to go back and re-author a lot of my compilations to get rid of the commercials.

I would be very interested. Currently I am using TyTool in VSplit mode, transcoding audio to 48K AC3, muxing in TMPGEnc and cutting commercials with MPEG2VCR. If I had a way to convert the result into a VOB, either from the muxed MPG or the elementals, it would save me a lot of work!

Stay posted on the AC3 bit. There is AC3 conversion in the new audio code. I am just turning on 1 feature at a time. If things work as expect AC3 output will be next and it should work just fine.

Ummm. Hummm. That is a bit farther than I had intended to go. But.... What tool did you use to multiplex to the output file with?

If you can get me a decent section of the clip I might be able to make something work out. Who knows. Importing once done might open a pretty big gateway...

I pretty much used SpruceUp exclusively with split files from TyTool6 to compile my earlier DVD projects. Don't make this a priority if you've got other things on your plate. I'm already recording the shows again from scratch so that I can edit them but I do have a dozen or more DVDs I'd like to edit with shows that aren't being aired again any time soon.
