I have successfully gotten video from the Tivo and converted it into a Mpeg2 file format, Can someone tell me how to burn this to a DvD with my DvD burner or post a link to the thread that shows how-to...Thanks

Now that's the 64K question! There are tutorials and instructional posts scattered throughout this forum. The first thing you need to know is which tool you used for extracting and editing your ty files. If you used TYTool then you can create the DVD compilation directly within TyTool itself. If you used TyStudio, you'll have to decide which authoring program you want to use. Some require elemental streams and some require that you import the files as mpegs. Virtually all standalone DVD authoring programs will require that you patch the 1st video header to a DVD-compliant resolution prior to importing the files (either 352X480 or 720X480), with perhaps the exception of DVD-Lab.

Thanks captain_video I thought this would be easy after all the work just to get the video from the Tivo. I made a DvD from the extracted video and it plays ok on Pc dvd player but not on my standalone dvd player, I think I need to do the "patch the 1st video header" thing but don't know how?

Download TYTool linked below. It has everything in it for downloading and burning to DVD. The GUI leaves much to be desisred but it is an all in one tool and ouputs the most compatable DVD available.

In answer to your question...

The process for going to DVD is very simple.

Once you have downloaded a show with TYTool using the GET button, start with the file menu on the same screen. The process from the file menu goes...

1) VOB-Mux File(s)
2) Create IFO Files/Dirs
3) Use your favorite DVD Burning software to burn the files and folders created to a DVD.

From the same file menu, and prior to Step 1, you can cut commercials by using "make key file". TYTool will use that key file automatically as part of the process.
