Newbie here. I've tried searching for a fix for the past several days with no luck. I'm having trouble trying to get anything off my DTivo. I've sucessfully installed Turbonet NIC, Tivoweb, FTP, noscramble, tytools, and TyStudio. I first tried with tytool 7r4. I telnet to Tivo, launch ./tserver_mf6 . It starts OK and goes to waiting for incoming connections. I then launch tytool on PC, do a refresh, get the Now Showing list, select a non-scrambled program, click get, then i get a "Data socket connect failed!". I've triple checked everything with no luck. I then try TyStudio instead. I do the whole install, make sure server &index is running, then launch PC side Tystudio app. I can pull down the file OK, but when I try to process the file with video set to DVD & audio set to no transcoding, it gets to 99% & hangs there forever. I tried leaving it running for over 10 hours..still no luck. Suggestions?

I only know anything about TyTool...

Yeah. It sounds like you have multiple networking devices in your client computer. TyTool grabs the primary one, really just meaning the first, and goes forward with it.

This is both good and bad. If you have a DSL modem and a local card you can have problems. Same goes with a regular modem etc...

To test this use the Find Network Addresses option in the Options menu and see how many there are. If this is the case then drop back to single socket method and try extracting it that way. Should work.

Also, get yourself the latest version of TyTool (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25588#post105979). It's up to 7r6 now. And might be to 7r7 real soon.
